The last six months have been so bizarre. 2015 was hard because Joshua was sick every single day. He wasn't sleeping or eating very well which meant I wasn't sleeping and I was stress eating. Not taking care of my diabetes. (its still not under control)
This year has been more productive and Joshua is healthier but he had two surgeries in the summer. One of them fairly serious. The other routine. But he's eating good again and sleeping through the night and most importantly, he's not throwing up every day. He's focused and ambitious. And thanks to Kathy he's progressing rapidly in the reading/writing/career building. Watching him learn and respond to her has been an absolute joy.
I have Knock Knock written. I'm stalled on the editing simply because I don't have enough time. Holidays are doing a number on me. If it was just me, I'd probably not pay attention this year. The goals are driving me that hard. Joshua has an activity he doesn't want to miss this weekend. And it's in KC so we'll leave Friday morning and check into a hotel in Olathe. The concert he wants to attend is at KCPT on Saturday afternoon. We'll head back home Monday morning if the weather cooperates.
Only six days at home before we take off for Texas. I'll take my computer with me but I most likely won't get a lot done. I intend to sink into visiting and soak up as much time with the kids as I can. Richard is off the whole week so I'll get a good visit with him. That truly will be Christmas for me. I hate leaving Hank alone at Christmas. First time I ever have but he doesn't like xmas anyway and I'll make sure he has presents to open. He's more scrooge than santa so that helps. I have the trip broken up into easy days. six-eight hours on the road and should be at motels by 3-4 pm every evening. Nice and slow. This should leave me time in the evenings to work on edits. I can get a lot done if I'm not being interrupted.
I signed up for 2 online art classes. Both of them on creating picture books. They aren't terrible long classes but give me a lot of info I lacked. The priced was in the mid-30's so not very expensive to take. I'm enjoying them so much that I might buy classes periodically and expand my art ability. I need streams of income and art is one of those streams.
I think Knock Knock will be a good jumpstart to re-inventing my brand. I lost momentum in 2015 and 2016 hasn't increased the writing although it did increase the art so it was productive. Just not productive enough.
I'll get Kay's story pulled together. I really think if I concentrate I can pull it together in six weeks. Once the story is done and ready to go live, I'm diving right into the 3rd Cosmic book. I know what it will be. I'll created the scene cards and start writing. I'd like to see it go live in May. so 3 months to write and six to eight weeks for editing etc. I have some marketing ideas for that point. I'll have a complete trilogy. I'll be able to use book #1 for some promotional and I can bundle the three for a bargain price.
Then I will get the first Lucky Donovan book out. I might, starting in January, take a lesson from you, and pick one day a week to work on the short stories for her. If I can get them done, I can post a short and start generating awareness of her in preparation of the book coming out in the fall of 2017.
Lots of ideas. Not enough time but if I can break the projects down and just get one thing a day done, I'll get a lot done. In theory anyway.
