Taking time today to paint. I am leaving here on Oct. 2nd. for Kansas. I'll pick Kathy up Monday morning. the 3rd. and take her to Emporia with us. I'll take her back to Lindsey's on Thursday unless she wants to land at the hotel with us. I'd love her company for 4 days. It would certainly make my time there more fun. If I end up in the hotel by myself, I'll probably use the time to work on the writing. I love free wi fi.
Lindsey promised me she'd help me navigate the concert and meet and greet I hope she remembers that she promised me. I have no clue how I'm going to get the tickets. Drew was supposed to handle that for me but everybody is being very quiet. I'm trusting it all goes as anticipated. I'll figure out a way to visit Marti while I'm there. She's in an assisted living home in Independence. I missed her last time so I really want to connect this time. I have no idea how fast her dementia will progress. I'd like to see her while she still remembers who I am.
This weekend, I want to get more editing done. I'm in the last 1/3 of the book. I will still need to print out a clean copy and do a read through for a final polish before sending it to editor. It seems to move in slow motion at this stage. Its so close to done and I feel like I'm slogging through quicksand. I also want to update my author website. Not sure what to put there. I want something interesting, upbeat, but not a sales pitch. I don't want to use Josh's stuff because he needs it for his own sites. I guess I'll free journal and see what my brain shoots out.
I also want to plan out the work schedule for the upcoming week. Joshua's chair being broken has put a monkey wrench in things. Its harder to get him in and out of the chair and much harder to position him comfortably. He's out more than he's in. After getting his health issue under control, it seems unfair for an actual equipment failure to slow him down. He needs to finish his roses so he can take them home.
I have a ton of mundane household chores stuff to get done before I can leave for Kansas. That's going to eat into my work time too. I dream of a day when Josh and I can have structured work hours and nothing interferes. even if it only lasts for a few weeks, I'd really like to know what that feels like.
