I have 4000 words on my new story. It is a paranormal cozy mystery. I made a list of planned projects. Created folders for them and I'm putting a 30 word sentence plus short synopsis of each story in their assigned folder. I have my work area created and I love it. I have daily hours blocked out so I can have planned work time. Still need to figure out the art time.
Was glad to hear about your outing with the cousins. I think Susan's new was good. Its always fun when family gets together. I'm going to Illinois for five days. Sharon has never been to Bill's house and I want to take Joshua to see his Englehaupt cousins. I also want to see my book club friends.
My book, Bone Weary, is the book club book for this month. I'm kind of excited to hear the discussion. I guess that's it for this week.

I love to hear of your productivity!
I had a great time at the concert and was thrilled that Susan decided to go. I stayed in KC until Wednesday morning because Dad drove my car up on Monday.
Obviously, I didn't get a lot of writing done, but I'm still plugging away at the final revision of Death's Inside Scoop (Yes, I finally settled on a title for the fourth cozy mystery). I hope to finish it this weekend. I have nothing else going on for once in a long time. I might also try to finish setting up my newsletter, something I need to stop procrastinating. Maybe this weekend as well.
Then I'm on to writing the rough draft for Vetrix 6.

I'm getting something written every morning. consistency is my goal. I love my new story. It makes me laugh. Bone Weary is this months book. I'm really interested in the feedback.
Barb and Mike are supposed to come and get their motorcycles today. I'll be able to put old Blue in the garage and free up the shed for the lawn mower. This will allow me to create a work space in the garage. That makes me happy.
I'm going to Illinois the second full week of Sept. I'll only be gone five days. I'll be staying in a motel so I should be able to get work done early in the morning or late at night.
I still need to get the art studio organized and in full swing. Joshua and I are both anxious to start painting again. The big room downstairs is looking good. Its going to going to be fun having movie nights. I'm aiming toward a Halloween movie night when the Hocus Pocus movie comes out.
Joshua's chair is still not working correctly. We have a technician coming at the end of the month.

I hope everything with the trip goes well! I got to spend time with Sydney today so I'm happy.
Death's Inside Scoop - I finished my final revision and sent off to proofreaders. I also contacted Cat about the cover. I'm not rushing to get published but it's getting close.
Qarq (Vetrix 6) - I started brainstorming story ideas for this book. I hope to get the majority of the rough draft done in September.

I'm still highly motivated to write. that feels good. Chalino and I worked in the garage yesterday. More purging and organizing. I'm starting to think about marketing again. I'm not ready to do it but I don't feel like I'm too old to try. Sharon is struggling right now. It will be better once the divorce is actually final. It's hard for her to make choices because she doesn't know what her resources will be. Marilyn is fading. She weighs about 94 pounds. She has no interest in food and only eats when Larry tells her to. He's taking wonderful care of her and we're all grateful.
Rhonda is trying to arrange time in October and November to see her more. we'll be lucky if she makes it to Christmas.
I'm making hard copies of everything I write. I'm paranoid that I'll lose something. Its happened before. I've started going through sacks and boxes of papers. I keep, throw away, and shred. I want to whittle it all down and get rid of it or put it where it belongs. I have a hard time shredding invoices or reciepts.
My project this week is to add to Be Careful and write short synopsis for the books I want to write. Prioritize them in the order I want to work on and create two letters that I can send to agents. I don't know if I want an agent but I want to see if my work catches their interest. So, its a busy week coming up.

I'm back home and should be here for a while. all my planned travel is over. I'd like to know how working with you publicist is working. From what I've seen, its given you a lot more visibility.
I got to attend my old book club in Illinois. It was so nice to see everybody. I had a snippet of my new book with me so I left it with them. They are starting to plan out next year's books to read. I told them Bone Weary is being discussed at the book club here on Tuesday. They asked me when I would have the new book ready for them to read. They are booked up through March so I told them April. That gives me a goal to work toward.
I brought home enough tomatoes to can so tomorrow I'll be in the kitchen canning. Not sure if I'll do all tomatoes or if I'll turn some of them into sauce. Just nice to have enough to work with.
I have to finish my cubbie project and get them downstairs. I need to clean out my garden and till it under. I feel good and contented. And very glad to be home.

I've been really busy with work and extracurricular activities coming my way for volunteer opportunities now that school has started up. I have to start saying no.
My publicist has done a good job at getting visibility on Facebook but it hasn't translated into sales. I think she's excellent at events but isn't familiar with what I need as an author. Plus I haven't seen all of the promises come to fruition yet so I think I'll use her through the end of October and then cut ties. I would be better off putting the money into ads on Facebook and Amazon that would drive sales online. I had the understanding she would do some of that but I haven't seen it, and I told her if I didn't see an increase in sales I couldn't afford her services. Pretty simple.
Death's Inside Scoop - I've received feedback from one of my proofreaders. Cat is moving and said she would get to it and I told her I was in no hurry - no scheduled date of release.
Qarq (6th Vetrix) - I have a rough draft for book 5 and am starting to brainstorm the rest of the series. I plan to work on this through the end of September and then start in on HTTS, which I've never finished, and see if I can work my way through and finish the rough draft for my Christmas story that's been parked in my mind for at least 5 years.
I can't wait to hear how your book club goes with your book. I think that's an excellent opportunity to get feedback!

It would have been if anybody had shown up. There were 5 people and 3 of them were me, Sharon, and Nyla. I consider it a bust. I think they are hesitant to give face to face feedback for fear of hurting my feelings. They don't realize that if I can't handle criticism, I wouldn't be a writer.
I'm continuing to get the projects around the house done. It's so fun to be at the creative part of moving in. I'm surrounding myself with color and creating the projects that I've envisioned for so long.
I got Hank's ashes spread and while in Illinois got brave enough to meet with his family and find closure. It was good for all of us. I will make the trip back once a year to keep that side of the family close. Hank would want that.
I found a chiropractor that I like so getting my back pain gone is helpful. I still need to get my diabetes under control and make sure I get enough rest. I'm still struggling with insomnia and uncontrolled blood sugar. Part of that is not having structured meals. Nyla and Mark are leaving on a ten-day bus tour up to the north-east. I can't remember exactly where but it sounds wonderful.
Rhonda called me this morning. She's planning on coming here for a couple of days in Oct. Trying to get more time for Marilyn. Marilyn is sleeping more and more. It's so hard to see her fading away.
I'm at 94 followers on Tik Tok and close to 500 likes. I have to weed out a lot of bots and would-be stalkers but its nice to see the followers grow. After about six or seven years on facebook my author page only has about 300 followers. Now if I could get my websites active. I really wish I could afford a social media person.
I don't know how to make sales but I did manage to get my paper back books linked to Kindle. I kept getting posts that my royalties couldn't be deposited. I don't see any sign of sales so think it was an automated post to get me to update my banking info.

Death's Inside Scoop - I sent the manuscript and blurb to Cat today. Just need to decide on a tagline.
HTTS - I'm back at working through this. I've never made it past lesson six, so I scanned the first six lessons and then did lessons seven and eight. I want to finish and get my Christmas story written. It's been in my head for 5-6 years so it's time to get it on paper.

I'm still moving forward on Be Careful What You Wish For. i have no idea if its any good but it makes me laugh and I love the characters. I'm busy on projects. I'm trying to get the things that need done outdoors done before the weather gets cold. The art studio is ready to use. I continue to worry about Marilyn but there isn't anything I can do to change it. I try to see her as often as I can. Bill had a scare last week. His defib probably saved his life. He goes to the heart doctor sometime this week to find out what caused it to go off. Had our first movie night in the basement. It's not exactly how I want it but we were able to get JOshua downstairs and it functioned. I still have a lot of organizing and de-cluttering to do. I have to get the cubbies finished and in place so I can control the fabric I've got. That will get rid of a lot of totes that take up room.
I'm shooting to get Be Careful finished, polished and ready to publish by April.

I can't wait to see your basement. It's always fun to see the progress you've made. I hadn't heard that about Bill. Glad he's okay and hopefully the doctor will get everything straightened out.

Rhonda called me. She and Jacob are making a flying trip here tomorrow. They have to go back Saturday. She wants to see Marilyn and her schedule is tight. It will be good to see her. When is your even in Halstead?

I'm considering the Pikes Peak conference. I know the Zebulan isn't held anymore but is there a way to get the first pages read? I'd really like feedback on my two newest novels.
