There's a lady from Halstead who is publishing a book on Friday. We are meeting at the library Thursday evening to discuss a time to do a joint book signing. I don't know her and will have to find out about her book. I don't know anything about it. The librarian thought it might attract a bigger crown if we did it together, which I think is a great idea.

For sure. and there are times when the people aren't there and time drags. Having somebody else there makes the day go faster. Its a good experience no matter what. You want librarians on your side. And teachers. They have access to your audience and can make it easier for your book to be read.

As soon as I get Vetrix in my hands I'm going to give copies to the middle school librarian and Blake's 8th grade English teacher. I hope they will allow us to speak to his class as a whole and I want to give each of his classmates a copy of the book. I also hope we can speak to the other grades (especially since the characters are 12; his school is 4th - 8th graders) and I can give them all a copy of Flipper's Flash Fiction. I don't know what that will cost me yet, but I hope to be able to do it.

It will be good for him. Joshua does better at socializing than I do. I usually hate being in front of anybody but when I put myself in a place where I feel passion for what I write, and purpose in what I say, God takes over and speaks for me. I do think I'm sharing a message. I don't know why I feel that but I do. Fall into the writer persona and share yourself with your readers. To gain fans means we give them a piece of us. I wish I could be there.

I don't mind talking to groups. I've done enough teaching I'm comfortable with it. Blake is anti-social, so I'll take advantage of every chance I get to get him around people. He does fine, just doesn't want to. Actually, a lot like me, I guess.
I just finished a phone interview for the Harvey County Independent (Halstead's paper). They're running a story next week about the book signing. I ordered the books today and with expedited shipping they will arrive on the 11th, 3 days after the signing. I spoke with Createspace and they were going to request priority on my books so I'll have them by the 7th. But no guarantees yet. I'll know in a few days.

Tight schedule but exciting that you're getting so close to holding your book in your hands. Its one of the best feelings.
