And thanks for the encouragement. I'm down this week. My dad was here and I didn't get much done at all. Now I'm two weeks behind in my HTRYN class. I know, I'm on no one's time line except my own, but I hate feeling like I wasted a whole week. Plus I had two interviews this weeks so I think my free time is about gone. Which is good because I need the income, but I've so much enjoyed the time to learn and write.

Its not two weeks wasted. You had time with your Dad and what a gift that is. You have job interviews, that is security until you can make a living from your writing. God has a plan. That is the lesson I have learned from Kathy. It keeps me going when I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. I'm heading for Texas tomorrow. I am going to soak up every minute with my family that I can. I miss them so much.
I saw improvement in this publication. No typos that jumped at me. No slow spots. If anything I'd like more. It goes by so fast. But it was nicely done and very entertaining.

Thanks - I needed the reminder. I knew I would have to get a job, but it's been hard for me to accept because I've enjoyed writing full-time more than I realized. Also, the job interview I had to day I really believe they are going to offer me a job, but there's travel involved, Saturdays, and tons of hours. NOT what I was looking for. But it's hard to think about passing when I'm unemployed. It's a good fit for my experience, but I wanted to move down the corporate ladder, not put myself in a position to move up.
I never imagined it was so hard to move down, but it has been. I would love a part-time job, or a full-time bookkeeping or lower-level accounting job. I'm so over qualified I can't get anyone to take me seriously.
But like you said, God has a plan. I don't doubt that after he gave me the last six months to work on my skill and jumpstart my career.
Have a wonderful trip and a very safe one!

We've landed at Poplar Bluff. Checked into a suite. I could get used to this kind of travel. Really roomy and comfortable. We started late because of bad weather where I live. Hard to get out of it but by the time I got on the interstate, the roads were clear and dry. I'm in double digit temps right now so that's a nice change. Tomorrow, we'll land in Texarkana. I'm hoping to get in early enough that I can get some solid editing time. Josh is watching the Sound of Music in the bedroom and I'm able to set up in the living area of the suite. I should get a couple of hours in this evening but I think I'll do website update. Had an idea for an article while I was driving through St. Louis. Wild-eyed traffic driving does that to me. My muse starts firing ideas at me rapid fire to distract me. I'll see if enough of it gelled to update my writing website. Josh's art website got updated last week. It did really good number-wise. Guess it pays to get a picture taken with a celebrity.
I have never had the luxury of writing full-time so I'm not apt to be very sympathetic. You will find time. It won't be enough. You'll always yearn for more but you'll keep at it because a writer must write. I think we inherited this gene from Mom. She never graduated high school but she loved to write, loved to read. Loved movies. She loved learning and instilled in her children the knowledge that learning is a privilege, not a right. We are lucky to do what we do and to travel on this eternal journey of expressing thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes I feel like a conduit that energy flows through. Not mine. I'm simply a vessel that allows creative energy to emerge. Sometimes I run out of ink but there is usually a time, and way, to refill.
I think the challenge of finding time to write, the pressure and need of expressing our thoughts, it all adds up to a more powerful expulsion of words. If it was easy, we'd play at it. We have learned that every minute is precious. Every project important. Its fuel that burns hotter because its in short supply.

Glad you've arrived at our first stop safely and you have some time to work. I got some work done today before church and while the kids were working. It felt good to make a little progress. The week will be hectic (I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet) but I should also get some writing done.

Not sure where the post about Strange #3 is so just grabbed this one. I went to Amazon and re-purchased. This time I know the sale went through. I'll read it later today and get a review up and I'll share it on my facebook page to give it more exposure. Just occurred to me that I can add all these to my reading list at Goodreads. Maybe that will help gain exposure too. I'll give that a try later.

It shows a sale - thank you! I need to check out Goodreads. I don't know anything about it.
