I have extra help this week. Tyra asked if I had work for her. She has to work sitting down so we are going to start sorting through the garage. I'm hoping to get the middle bay functional as a workshop.
I still want to get the basement cleaned up by July 1st. So I'll be spending some times tiling and getting the shower functional. It's the last item in the bathroom. Everything else is cosmetic.
I'm close to start the built in bookcase in what would have been Hank's kitchen. I'm sort of thinking of it as a multi-purpose room right now. A combination guest/reading/office space. I've been grooming the dogs in there too.The sink is handy to give them baths in.
I started my first cartoon drawing. So far, so good. It's not my comic strip but it will be used in Joshua's school work. Sharon has plans. I need to get over to her house soon. She wants to go to the cemetery where Warren is buried, Stutzman's in Newton to buy some plants for her planter, and I need to pick up a table to bring home.
I got out yesterday to the Fling Hills Festival. That was enjoyable. and I picked up Nyla today to ride to the store with Josh, me, and the dogs. It was an enjoyable outing. I'm trying not to be such a lump on the weekends.

Sounds like you are keeping busy, which is good. I can't believe it's almost July! I leave for Roswell in just over two weeks. I hope I can make some money. I'm ordering t-shirts with aliens on them in hopes of supplementing my income. It may backfire, but I think it has a chance. We'll see.
Toxic Intentions - I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked, but the time I worked on it was productive. I had to buckle down and figure out my timeline as I had some things really messed up. I think I've done it, and fixed a few plot problems. My goal this week is to write the few scenes I still need and continue to address the issues I've found. If nothing interferes with my time, I have a long-shot at finishing the story by the end of June. Hopefully in good enough shape for beta readers. That's my hope. Then I plan to write the rough draft of book four in July, after the UFO Festival.

Toxic Intentions - I got a lot done. Probably wrote around 10,000 words of additional scenes. I have the story basically done, but 1-2 scenes still needed to write. Then I have several plot issues I need to address. I don't think I have enough time to finish by the end of June, but hopefully I will see the light at the end of the tunnel by then.
I leave in ten days for Roswell and the UFO Festival. I've ordered t-shirts and plan to sell them as well. Things are opening up and opportunities to get out and sell books are a thing again. Time to figure out how to best balance my time.

I'm very close to going into a melt down. I have too many people working for me and work not getting finished. I have given the storm door today to get finished. If it doesn't, when everybody goes home, I'm doing it myself. I have had it with it blowing in the wind and banging against the stair which sets the dogs off.
I got a few articles written but posted them on facebook. I need to start putting them on my website. What I really need is my house in order and everybody to get out of my way so I can work. It irritates the heck out of me to work around people who keep talking to me when I want to be inside my head working on projects.
That said, I hope you have a good time in Roswell. The marketing game is a hard one to figure out. But sometimes, all it takes is to be in the right place, with the right things, and meet the right person. I'll send lots of energy your way when you're down there.
I am trying to get my bookwork caught up. I have to get my tax stuff sent to the accountant before October. Sooner is better. I'm trying to get information to the investment officer. I'm very confused on what he is requiring. Numbers make me want to go huddle in a corner and cry.
I like the way your mysteries are taking off. A cozy mystery is a very good thing. Can you tell yet, which genre, or age group is your niche?

I think it's too early to tell if I've found a niche or not. At this point I've only broken even with When the Time is Right. I can see me writing cozy mysteries for a lot of years (I already have a lot of ideas), but we'll have to see if they reach the point of making me money.
That being said, I still have a paranormal thriller, a middle grade horror story, and an inspirational series I haven't tested with the public yet.
I believe I will always write a variety of stories because my ideas are all over the place and I enjoy pursuing them. I may only make money from one genre (which I'm okay with if I can grow it large enough to support me), but I will write in many different areas, I suspect.

Toxic Intentions - I'm about two scenes away from having a completed manuscript. I still have a few issues to address, but I've run out of time so am setting aside until I get back from New Mexico. I plan to work on it intermittently in July until it's finished.
Mystery 4 - I made a few notes tonight, not much done. I hope to spend 1-2 hours brainstorming before I leave on Wednesday, then I will do some rough draft writing as I have time while in Roswell.
UFO Festival - I leave on Wednesday. The festival in Friday - Sunday. I picked up my t-shirts this week and I like them. Now I just need them to sell!

I'm getting closer to a functioning work schedule. Abbey has been painting walls in the basement. we'll have 2 guest bedrooms down there by friday and the big room sort of functional. the bathroom works except for the shower. If they want to shower they can use the upstairs shower. By corn roast, the shower should be done.
Jessica has found a house to rent. She's really excited. I offered her the job of working with Josh in the afternoons on his tobii and with sharon. That will give josh 15 hours a week working on his conversation/writing/English skills.
In order to hire her I have to be able to provide her with a tax form. I'm thinking that if I apply for a Kansas employer whatever they call it, I'll be able to issue her a form saying how much she has earned during the year. I just need to know when to give them to her and how to do withholding. I need to do this one right. not sure where I get the information. I'll probably be making some phone calls tomorrow.
I saw Ron and Nita and Marilyn and Larry today. Marilyn and Larry have an appointment tomorrow morning to discuss Marilyn's cancer treatment. She has cancer in two places. in her lymph nodes by her thyroid and she has it in her abdomen. She doesn't understand exactly what is going on. I'm very sad because I know what her future holds. We need to see her as often as we can.
Have fun in Roswell. I hope the t-shirts sell well. and the books. travel safe. '

Who is Jessica? I should probably know, but it isn't ringing a bell. Did you get your questions answered? I would probably start with the Kansas Department of Revenue.
How is Marilyn? So sad!
I'm in Roswell. Weather's nice, but need the rain to hold off since I'll be set up outside on Friday and Sunday. They moved Saturday indoors.

Jessica is the lady who has been working in my basement. She's worked for me for about a year. She shows up on time. She is a hard worker and Joshua and I like and trust her.
Angie gets out of the hospital today. Nyla will pick her up and take her to her house. What her long term situation will be, I have no idea. She has congestive heart failure. She has to follow a strict diet and wear a vest all the time except for in the shower. She has to wear the vest for 90 days. Her heart is only working at 10 percent and so weak that they cannot put the defibrillator in at this time. They are hoping the heart will strengthen enough to do the surgery. I don't have any great confidence in her being able to stick to the rules.
Nola and 3 of my grandchildren will be here this evening and stay until Tuesday morning. I'm super excited. We're setting up the guest bedrooms today.
Once we get through the holiday, I think I'll have things set up to begin working again.
Best of luck in Roswell. All it takes is meeting the right person at the right time.
