I posted my yearly goals and lost the post. I'll redo it after I get done pouting.
I've never been so glad to see the end of a year. Everything went well until New Years Eve. Angie showed up at my house at 10pm. I didn't get her back out the door until ten to two. We have all decided on tough love. We cannot help her until she decides she needs help but until then, we have to protect ourselves. She is truly not in her right mind. I can't let her out of my sight when she's here and I simply don't trust her not to cause trouble or actual harm.
I want reliable work hours. Both for me and for Joshua. I need my house completely functional. I'll redo the yearly goals tomorrow.
I was impressed with yours. It's an awesome line-up. Wish I was younger and could muster up some of my old ambition. Right now, I'm simply trying to regain my perspective
Cataract surgery on the 13th and 29th. I'll need to line up a driver for both days. i'll be glad when that is over.

If you can't find someone from around there to give you a ride, let me know. I do have some flexibility with my job. Snow Mountain Dreams - I actually finished this weekend (probably thanks to the holiday and being quarantined). I sent to my first beta reader. I'm pleased with the way it turned out, I never thought I would/could write a romance story. We'll see if the beta readers agree Three Blind Mice - Made a lot of progress but know I still have plenty of plot holes to fix. I'm worried I won't get this finished and to beta readers by the end of the month. Will keep pushing... Sevitan - Now that Snowy Mountain Dreams is complete I need to redirect some time to getting this book published since it is complete and waiting. Time to prod my proofreaders.

I'm dealing with insomnia right now. I know its mostly caused by my worry that Angie will show up during the night and I cannot open the door to her. This stresses me because I'm struggling with my common sense and my love of family. I hate not being able to help her but I can't. And it pains me to cause her pain even though I know its not my fault.
Today, I start putting the basement in order. I get the landscapers paid for their work. Once I begin to see the basement becoming spacious and functional, I should begin to feel more energy. Jessica will clean and etch the concrete floor on the east side to prepare it for the epoxy. We should get the floor done this week. I'm so excited to see what it looks like.
I found three windows not latched. I know they were latched a week ago. I periodically check them because I'm paranoid. One of the egress windows was not locked. It looked like it was but you could easily slide it open. I'm not too worried about that one because the workers were using it to slide boards through. I think they simply didn't get it closed correctly.
The upstairs windows are more worrisome for me. One of my bedroom windows and the window in the master bath were not securely closed. I know they were. I don't know who would have opened them although I did have company for a week, or so, but I can't see any reason why any of them would have opened a window. I'll be more vigilant about checking the windows and I'll call the guy Ron recommended about getting the house wired for security.
I need to keep in better touch with Sharon. Marilyn is being well cared for but I feel like Sharon is not. Ted is not easy to care for and Sharon is being controlled, with the best of intentions, by Nate and Maggie as well as Ted. They don't want her driving any more so she's feeling trapped. I've got to figure out how to see her once a week to check on her. If we can get a regular time for Josh's tutoring sessions it will help.
I'm sitting here at 4:30 am trying to keep busy without turning the lights on. Getting some room darkening curtains might help. I feel too visible when its dark out. I'm too used to living in the country without any close neighbors.
I hate that you had to be quarantined but glad you got so much accomplished.

Oh goodness that's scary! I hope it was just kids messing around with the windows and not something more serious. Angie was doing so good for a while, it saddens me to hear of her struggle. I wish I could do something, but you know with addicts, no one can do anything to help until they want it. I will be praying for her. Are they correct in discouraging Sharon from driving? I'm sorry she's feeling isolated. I should go visit her some time. I'm probably the closest relative, or one of them anyway. Today was my last day in quarantine! I saw that, but honestly I didn't mind it too much.

I saw your post on Facebook but I'm not sure exactly what it means. What is the Eureka thing? And did you apply for a job in Chanute? I feel like I missed something but not sure what it was. Whatever, I hope its all good stuff for you.

Oh goodness, I guess that wasn't clear! I sent out my press release to newspapers around the Yates Center area. The Eureka Herald newspaper told me they would run the release as is (they usually shorten it but aren't because I'm a fellow journalist). The Chanute Tribune newspaper called to get some additional comments to add to the release for a story. No, I don't plan to pursue journalism and don't want to write for any other newspaper than where I'm at.

Three Blind Mice - I got a lot of work done on revision, especially yesterday. Enough that for the first time in weeks I feel like I might have it ready for beta readers by the end of the month. We'll see.
Snowy Mountain Dreams - I found two beta readers on Holly's site and received their feedback. I plan to read through and at least start on doing some revision. I don't know how much I'll do yet or how long it will take me.
Sevitan - The manuscript is at my two proofreaders. I expect it back in the next week or two. My dad and Cat are both aware it's coming their way relatively soon.
Rex (Vetrix 5) - Blake and I spent about 30 minutes brainstorming what this story will look like. I want to write the story this year, not too late because I want to publish early in 2022, but I haven't put writing the rough draft on my schedule yet.
HTTS - I completed Lesson 4 this week.

I started reading your cozy mystery. So far, I'm really liking it. When I get done reading it I'll post a review on Amazon if they will let me. I don't see any problem with that.
Today is Hank's birthday. It hit me harder than I expected. I'm tired and sad. Tomorrow I take Josh to the doctor so we can move forward with the chair mold being pulled on Thursday. Wednesday I get the cataract taken care of on my left eye. Thursday is the chair mold. And Friday, Jody is supposed to come for a visit. I'm really tired. I'll be glad when this week is done.

I'm so sorry! I know Mom's birthdays always hit me really hard those first few years - her birthday her the anniversary of her death. Some days you can only hold on for dear life and wait for another, better day. I hope today isn't that bad for you, but if it is, know you are loved. I'm glad you have a visit with Jody to look forward to!
Sydney comes this week for a visit and we plan a Barnes and Nobel trip. I'm super excited!

I survived. Thats a plus. Today is Josh's day. getting a mold pulled for his new cushions. This is a big deal. The better it goes, the more comfortable he'll be in the future. I heard that Dustin and Colby might stop over this afternoon. I will be so happy to see them.
Marilyn is doing pretty good. She's supposed to be taking medication for the Alzheimer's. I hope she is but she's very stubborn.
I signed up for a song writing class being given by somebody here in town. I want her to hear my song I wrote. As well as hone my craft a bit. It would be nice to know what I'm doing. Its on the 25th of this month. Zoom meeting but I will take what I can get.
The basement work is almost done. Not the finish work but the framing and sheetrock. I need a plumber. The east side got the floor done a few days ago. Not the exact look we wanted but its a pretty color and I like the results. I'm going to be fine using this product on the basement floors. Better than concrete anyway.
I'm still trying to get solid work time.

Sydney came for a visit this week. We went to Barns and Nobel and I found some books to read then went out to eat. She's doing really well. So is Blake. He starts his final semester of high school tomorrow.
Three Blind Mice - I finished revising three major threads in the story and have a list of issues that I have recognized. I am down to two weeks before I send to beta readers. I'm doing whatever I need to make that deadline.
Snowy Mountain Dreams - I received feedback from my beta readers and have made notes of changes I want to make. I'll need to find time to work on this in the next week or two. I have until March 1 to submit but one of the beta readers offered to look at the next draft so I would like to do that, plus I probably need to write a query letter for the submission.
HTTS - Read through Lesson 5

Three Blind Mice - I finished!!! And sent it to two beta readers. It will still need some work, I'm sure, but I won't worry about it until March 1 when I have the notes from my beta readers.
Mystery 3 - Next one my list. I have about 28,000 words. I plan to start on it February 1. Hope to have it done and to beta readers by the end of March.
Snow Mountain Dreams - Didn't touch it this week. It's my top priority this week. I hope to get it revised in the next couple of weeks and maybe have someone take another look at it. Its submission is due March 1.

I attended an online songwriting class but had to drop out halfway through. Internet connection terrible. but she said she would mentor me. Just need to find out what her hourly charge will be and get my music ready to work with her on it.
Sharon has been here for several days. Wonderful visit. Having a lot of fun and laughter.
Joshua is feeling better. He's up and eating and beginning to get back on the tobii. Hope the well trend stays around for awhile. Got the suction machine and it is very helpful.
I'm putting some thought to the cartoon strip. Beginning to feel it emerging. I've been drawing again. My skill level is much improved and still have a way to go but I'm hopeful that I can do what needs to be done.
I'm playing with ideas in my head about different stories etc. Trying not to get too caught up in them because I need to finish what I started. carving out work time is high on my priority list. I have my desk cleaned off in the bedroom and ready to begin working there. isolated from the noise and distractions of the main house.

A busy week in general so not as much writing done I went to Susan's this weekend. In general, I think I needed a break but now I need to hit it hard (after Tuesday, that is).
Snowy Mountain Dream - I worked on revision, wrote a couple of scenes I thought needed added. I'll read through decide if they need to stay. Then I need to focus on editing, cleaning it up, and getting a query letter and synopsis written. Submission deadline is March 1.
Sevitan - I hadn't heard from my proofreaders so I contacted them this week. I'll hopefully get the manuscript back this week so I can get back to publishing.
Mystery 3 - I want to read through what I have (around 28,000 words I think) and make a plan this week on what I need to do to finish the story.
