I'm not optimistic. I don't think we'll peak with coronavirus until early next year.

I'm afraid you're right but I'm still going to make a Thanksgiving dinner if I have to eat it all alone. Its too sad otherwise. As long as we're not exposed and not running a fever and feeling fine, I think we could risk a small get together. I'll know more when it gets closer. One day at a time.

I texted Rhonda yesterday and it sounds like she is still planning on coming. Regardless, I'm going to fix a Thanksgiving meal on Saturday. Sharon called and told me Ted has been moved to a nursing home for rehab to regain his strength. She is not allowed to visit with him so I invited her to stay here for a few days. I think Rhonda will pick her up on Thursday when she comes here. If you are free on Saturday, head on over. I'm not making any solid plans. I'll feed anybody who shows up on Saturday. I'll be baking on Friday. We'll use common sense about the virus. If we haven't been exposed, aren't running a fever, and I have a big bottle of sanitizer sitting out. I think we can get together for Thanksgiving. We might have to ban hugs so we maintain social distance but I'm ready to see people.

Saturday it is. Come as early as you like. There will be people to visit with. I hope. I've anticipated before and had plans fall through but I hope to goodness the food gets eaten.
Progress is happening but it's slow. I just keep plugging away. Baby steps are still steps.

Middle Grade Horror Story - I finished the rough draft
Mystery 3 - Starting back on the rough draft
Nano - I hit 50,000 words today. My goal is 60,000 by the end of November. My stretch goal is 66,000 words, which is 2,000 a day since I started 3 days early.

I woke up this morning with Knock Knock on my mind. I finally got the pages collated. There are a few end chapters missing that I must not have printed out. I'm going to re-type a chapter a day to put it into the correct format. While I'm doing that I'll edit, tighten, and polish so hopefully, it will be ready to go to an editor when complete. I think I can do the rewrite in a few weeks. I know that it is a complete story so there is no reason why I can't greet the new year with a new book in print.
I will continue to format Bite Me and get as much of the written story together as I can. I will soon be in new words territory so I think I might put together scene cards for each section. I would like to correlate the origins story with the modern day story to sort of create some parallels between each story. In future books, I'd like to use the journal entries to show how circumstances in her journey changed her and play with that fine line between insanity and humanity. Where is that line? When does one cross it? How does one journey back?

It was so great to hang out at your house yesterday and to see everyone! Thank you for feeding me and letting me stay.
Murder Mystery 3 - I did 75 TMTs last week and wrote a total of 17,640 words. This story is just over 26,000 words now. If I can squeeze in another 2,500 words tomorrow then I will 70,000 words in the 33 days I did for Nano (I started 3 days early). I plan to keep writing on this story until I hit a wall. Then I'll put it away until revision.
Three Blind Mice - I hope to dig this back out this week and start revision. I want to get it to beta readers in January some time.

I'm so grateful for you staying. I needed to be surrounded by family. Thanksgiving was the holiday I dreaded the most because it was Hank's favorite. He didn't like Christmas so its not as difficult for me and Richard and his family will come the day after. I'll get the kids to help Joshua decorate the tree. I don't like doing it and he loves it.
I do want a baking day. I like to give out goodie plates. We make cookies, and candy, and sing, and have potpourri on the stove so it smells like Christmas. That day is what makes Christmas for me. I like handing out plates of goodies to people. Its like offering them pure love from my family to whomever gets gifted.
Jessica came over yesterday to paint on the ceiling. She thinks she'll get the ceiling done today. Seth should finish up Joshua's therapy table today. And a man came by yesterday to look at my basement job. He sounded interested and said to give him a few days to talk to a plumber. I'm hopeful that he can do all the things I need done. If I can get the bedrooms defined and the bathroom finished and functioning the the rest of the basement is cosmetic. We can start using it soon.
I'm going to keep retyping Knock Knock and writing Lucky's story. I want the first three chapters polished so I can start pitching it. I know how long the process takes so I can begin to send it out while I'm putting the story together. I have a lot of it written all ready. Just spread over two computer and a passport. Need to gather it, tie all the pieces together into a cohesive package and get it done. To do this, I need dedicated writing time.
I have a few more business items to take care of. I'm going to work on those today. I need Joshua's monthly check deposited to his account here instead of Illinois. Once its coming here, I can close out his account there. To close out the joint checking account, I need to get Hank's Prudential check coming here. I think that is the last item being pulled out of the illinois account. I will be very glad to get those two accounts closed out. They are my last tie to our old address.
Thank you again for being here and staying over. It reminded me of old times when the family would be together with lots of laughter and food and games. Joshua needs his cousins.

Jared Vaughn, an author friend who's organizing the EPIC event this weekend, sent me the following message: I can see how many people view things on the EPIC page, and your post had more shares than anyone and the views were over 1200, way more than anyone else. You might have a bigger following than you think.
I'm stunned because there are a number of other artists/authors involved I thought would have had more play than me. Thank you for your shares! Everyone who's sharing must be helping those numbers a lot.

Momentum. You can't beat it. Keep it going. I share everything I see. Word of mouth is the absolute best advertising. I need to get movement started again. I've been dead in the water for way too long. I'm excited to see how you're doing. Energy feeds energy. You are an inspiration to me.

Three Blind Mice - I read through my rough draft and made some notes for revision. I'm now going through a second time, working through issues. Want to have complete draft for beta readers in January.
HTTS - I read through Lesson 1 this week, refreshing myself. I did the first 7-8 lessons about three years ago. I'm thinking about doing a lesson a week (or periodically) over the next year and see if I can get through it and learn a few things.
Snowy Mountain Dreams (working title) - My friend Nancy invited me to submit a story to an anthology that Wild Rose Press (the publishing company that has published her books). I decided that I might try because maybe romance readers would be interested in cozy mysteries. It's a romance, 10,000 - 25,000 words, during the holidays with a Christmas cookie in the title. It's due March for so I'm going to give it a try. I came up with an idea and wrote about 2,000 words this week.

You never know what work will resonate with what readers. I'm totally scattered right now. Workers in and out of the basement. Plumber is due to show up soon. (I hope). I'm struggling with getting my diabetes under control. And a lot of drama going on in my house. I'm so grateful I didn't have 4 teenagers at one time. And Kara is dealing with her own issues. I just wish I wasn't the mediator but God seemed to put me here for a reason.
Looks like I'll have house guests for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Drew, James, and Lindsey are coming and so is Rhonda and Jacob. I figured you usually go to Susan's but if you find yourself home and want to land here my door is open and I can always find somewhere for you to sleep. Richard, Nola and kids will come in the day after Christmas.
I'm going to have my xmas baking day on the 19th. I don't know who will show up. I'm hoping the kids can but even if they don't, I'm going to be spending the day in the kitchen making candy and cookies. Playing xmas carols and singing. It's the one thing I do at xmas that brings me joy. If you have the time and want to come over and join in, would love to have you. I don't know what kind of chaos it will be but I hope to be surrounded by children and having lots of laughter.
As far as work goes, I still plan on working both Knock Knock and Bite Me. They are in different stages of development so I see no reason to worry about overlap. Different parts of the brain involved. I just want progress. I am sketching in the evening. Nothing great. Just keeping my hand and eyes busy to keep developing skills.

Thank you for the invitations, and I would love to be there for both. I don't know yet what I'm doing and what Blake's plans are, but don't be surprised if I show up at one or both. I'll Let you know. Sydney, I think the plan for now, will come home for a couple of days before Christmas and a couple of days the week after. She works Christmas so won't be around. I'm not sure what Blake wants to do, but he might want to hang out, and then again he might not. He's hard to figure right now.
