Mystery 2 - I started writing this week. I have around 10,000 words. I'll keep writing until I get Sevitan back from the editor, then will pause. That's basically where all my writing time has gone this week.
Thinking about you guys!

I posted a reply here and it's not showing up. I'm too tired to write it twice. I'll try again in the morning.

MM 2 - I wrote for 52 ten minute timers this week. I'm near 20,000 words. Hope to double that by the end of March.
When the Time is Right - Sent out a couple of query letters today. I got one rejection this week.
Marketing - Learned this week that the UFO Festival is canceled for this year. I also had a music festival in June planned that got canceled this week. I hadn't planned a lot of events this year, but it looks like very few (if any) of them will happen.

I woke up this morning. Finally, after a year of exhaustion, I woke up before the alarm and energetic and motivated. I don't know how it happened but I hope it continues.
I located a lot of tax information so I can get that sent off and out of my hair. I addressed the thank you cards that I had addresses for. Will have to look up addresses for the rest of them, or find out where I put the envelopes.
I bought a notebook and have plans to plot out book three of the cosmic chronicles. I know what I need to say in it. I'm also going to start jotting down a working synopsis of book two of the Welcome to the House series.
I will begin to pull up the rest of the Knock Knock book to get it sent to the editor. I want to be productive and, for once, its writing that is emerging. It's about time.
Josh and I are doing okay. I have good days, and days when I literally can't function. I go see the lawyer today to put in motion Kansas guardianship for Joshua. and begin estate planning.
Bill will be in Kansas on Wed. and Richard and a couple of grandchildren will be in on the weekend.
I still have Susan and Chad in prayer for a recovery and healing. I hope he's doing okay. and all the family. I know firsthand how illness affects an entire family.
I'm glad you're working. Look forward to seeing you at some point in time. Drat this virus, anyway.

I have the desk in place. brought the printer stand home so I can get a working printer. I started rereading Cosmic Shift and as I read, I'm taking notes about characters, ages, descriptions, etc. I'll read Shift and Chaos then write out the scene cards for the final book. I'll print out the part of Knock Knock that is already compiled and then finish putting the chapters in order. as soon as I get a cohesive copy, I'll go through and clean it up to send to the editor.
So. Knock Knock. Compile, clean it up and submit to editor. Cosmic Chase (or Justice whichever one I decide on) scene cards written. Write a synopsis of the four book story arc for the Welcome to the House series. Knock Knock is the first in the series. When Knock Knock comes back from editor, I'll finalize the cover, and send it to whomever I decide will do the formatting. It's been so long since I published, I'm not sure I remember how.
I'll continue to put my house in order. Get Joshua set up with the tobii. I found his floor mount yesterday. Get him set up with speech therapy and Sharon for tutoring.
Richard and boys leave tomorrow. I'll get the studio set up enough to begin painting again. Joshua and I both need to be working.

It's so great to have you focused on writing again! And since I won't have my series done until seven books (another 3 years at one book a year), I'll be curious to see if having a compete series helps in sales.
I went to KC Saturday and got to see Chad. He says he's at about 80%, but sounded good and it was good to see him. We had planned to move Sydney back from KC, but Alan's truck broke down so we have to reschedule. She's being furloughed beginning Oct. 1, so her and her roommate canceled their lease. She disappointed, but has plenty of savings, no expenses, and is optimistic she'll return sooner than later. She really likes her job, so hopefully she won't have to stay away too long.
I got some writing done on MM 2, but not a lot with a busy week. I have a slow week ahead, I believe (though one day in the next two weeks we'll need to move Sydney before her lease expires), so I should get a lot of work done on my story. I'll only be about halfway done by the end of May. I still need to do some more plotting because I just don't have a good idea where my story is going. Mysteries are a lot of work!

Printer is in place. Desk is in place. House is clean and functional. Elevator is in transit and when it arrives it will be installed. The gutters have been put off until next week. Too much mud right now for them to be working around the foundation. So far, the sump pump is keeping the basement dry. Had a great visit with Richard and boys. They like the house.
I'm reading Shift and taking notes. I'll move right into Chaos and continue making notes. I bought the cards yesterday so I can go right into jotting down the scenes. I feel confident about the Cosmic series.
Knock Knock I'll print out what I've got compiled. Then I'll finish printing out the chapters and read through it cleaning it up and tightening it to get it ready for the editor.
I want to print out a couple of chapters of Lucky's story. I want to see if the new format works. It's basically telling two stories at the same time. Her origins and how she became what she is, and a contemporary mystery story that shows what her current life is like. I wanted a way to let the reader know her back story without using a lot of flashbacks. I think I've figured out a way to do it using a different font for the origins and a regular font for her contemporary life. Main point is for the reader to know where they are without getting lost.
It feels good to be focused again.

You've teased me with Lucky long enough. I deserve to read her story one day!

I'm glad Chad's health is improving. Now that I'm in Kansas, maybe when the virus restrictions ease up I'll actually get to see Susan and family once in awhile. I think I'll be able to travel more now. This means PPWC is now back on my agenda. I think I will work on getting Lucky's story ready to pitch, if they decide to hold it. I want to try publishing it traditionally. I think its different enough to be a breakout character. One can hope.
I'll get Joshua back with speech, and tutored by Sharon and get him working again toward his writing goals. Also need to get the art studio functional. I'm super happy with the space I have here. Sad that Hank didn't get to enjoy it. But God's time is the right time and I was given a dream that tells me I have something cooking on the burner that will be super good. Happiness is a choice. I don't choose to live in sorrow but in joyfulness.
Can't wait to get to see everybody. Glad Kara and kids are so close. Keeps me from getting to homesick.

Cosmic Shift has been read. Jumping right in to Chaos. They don't take long to read but I'm enjoying visiting them. Pretty pleased with the stories and the editing. I want to get tighter and cleaner but that comes with experience. I hope so anyway.

Yes, can't wait to visit you guys! I was stuck on my murder mystery and posted on Facebook and got numerous good suggestions. Now I need to do some more plotting so I can get back to writing. I like most of what I have so far, but just got stuck.

I'm making meatloaf today. Anything that I don't eat Kara's kids come over and eat for me. If you ever get hungry for a particular meal, let me know and I'll cook it and we can visit. You can take home the leftovers.

It took me awhile but I managed to get Chaos loaded on the Amazon Fire and am speeding through the read. I think I'll write a synopsis to solidify the story arc in my mind before I do the scene cards. Its been so long since I've had a reliable work schedule that it feels very strange to be in charge of my own life. I managed to get my birth certificate ordered. should get it next week and I sent off for a certified copy of my marriage certificate. Everything that I need to get done needs both of those items.

Whenever I used to visit mom I would request meatloaf. Yum! Although, I don't cook so any meal would be a treat. Let me know when you're comfortable with visitors and we'll find a time that works for a visit.

I'm open to visitors. we all know the rules. if we're running a fever stay home. Other than that, I'd love to see you. I'm enjoying the kitchen. It's a chef's kitchen or it would be if I had all my stuff. So much of it is still in storage.
