I emailed the lawyer today and told her I could get the report to her by Monday. You're off the hook. I don't have to do an itemized report this time. Just totals of categories and copy of last statements. I wish I could remember what month we stopped on last year.

Sorry I am just seeing this. My dad is here and Blake had State cross country this weekend. You send me all of the 2019 statements, but the last one I have is from April, 2018. So I still need May - Dec 2018. If you can get those to me I can get them in on Tuesday evening.
What do you need from me? Years past we have submitted details for April - March.

I sent you the forms she sent me. I filled out the one. On the other she said she just needs how much income. and the expenses can be by category. No need to do an itemized statement. Just lump sums for categories, like so much for medical, so much for personal, I didn't know how many months in 2018 we needed. I'll pull them early in the morning. I hate to dump this on you. Its my fault you didn't get statements in a timely manner. I'll see what I can do in the morning.

I can't get to them until Tuesday evening because I took Friday off for State cross country and production is Tuesday so my Monday is booked. So anytime you can get me them beforehand is fine. I can run them by summary, but once I have everything entered it isn't any harder to run detail or summary.
Are you sure about the summary? Because question five of what you sent me said they need an itemized listing, which I take as detailed.

This is what she replied to my question about itemized, or lump sum.
Cantlin Law Firm - Beth Rice Wed, Oct 30, 3:20 PM (5 days ago) to me
Mrs. Engelhaupt,
You can lump the expenditures into categories. Then just provide copies of latest statements showing balances in his accounts.
I can run the latest statements through the scanner and attach them to an email. I can get the requested pages to you for future but I'm feeling way too guilty to give you such a short deadline. I thought I could go through and highlight expenses with different colored highlighters to identify category, then go back through and add up each category. I know that is tedious and time consuming but I can work on it this evening and all day tomorrow.
It would help to know what categories you use. I should have sent everything when you asked for them. Only excuse I've got is I was buried under the needs of two disabled people, plus daily medical treatments for Hank, and getting house ready for sale plus getting stuff going in Kansas without being able to actually be there and then crashing from exhaustion and depression. My brain has been on overload so long that I'm lucky I can even function and I'm not very well. but I can do this and send them to her by Wed. morning.
I will be guided by you but I would feel less guilty if I knew I wasn't adding to your load. Once I get to Kansas it will all be so much easier.

It will be SO much easier for me to do it. Don't feel guilty - you paid me, and I have time tomorrow evening. I just need to get past my deadline tomorrow afternoon.
I just need copies of the statements, which it looks like you sent.

There is no rush now. She is getting us a continuance until January. I feel way less guilty with a longer deadline. I will be much more helpful when I'm close enough to give you physical copies if I need to. Tomorrow I do a deep cleaning of the house. Friday the appraiser comes. I just want the house sold and money in the bank. I still need to get hold of the movers for an estimate for storage and moving. Hank has 3 really important treatments coming up the first week of Dec. so I have to be sure and be here for those. I sort of want to empty the house out about two days before the closing so I can clean the house without anything in it. We can stay in a hotel for two or three days and I can put the dogs in the kennel. Then when the closing is done we can just load up and head for Kansas.

The Most Important Thing - I got some writing done, but not as much as I had hoped. I did finish an adjusted outline for my story and have it divided up into a plan to finish the story by the end of November.
Air Capital Comicon - I attended this weekend as a guest of Eating Crow Comics, whom I helped publish his books. The table was his, but I had my books on it. Sold two books, so not a great day, but he sold 5-6 books and some of his drawings.

When I get to Kansas and sort of settled in I want to explore the sales opportunities. I know SFA is based out of Lawrence Kansas so it seems like Lawrence should have some sort of sales opportunity. I'll explore Emporia and surrounding areas. I'd like to get into the art community so I'll be exploring that too. I can't remember where Kansas Writers is located at but I'll get more active in that organization.
I'm so discouraged with my writing. Its age related. I keep thinking I don't have enough time left but I will continue to write. I'm thinking of trying to find a subscription site again. Or a subscription option. I want to look at Vlogger and podcast opportunities. I'd love to start a pod cast of original stories. Figure out how to talk about the genre, the struggles of a writer, or any artist, really. If we put out one every week, or even once a month, it would be another stream of income starting.
I'm going to help Marilyn with the family genealogy book. We'll shoot for having something by reunion time. She has most of the information. I'm thinking we'll have to come up with a question sheet and email them to the appropriate families and ask for them to be returned by a specific date or else they won't be in the finished project. I think we'll have to just approach them directly with exactly what is needed from them. Apparently, that procrastination gene is a strong one.
Exposure is what the shows are about. People seeing you, meeting you and hopefully remembering you when your books come to their attention. Its not a sprint, but a marathon.

My goal is to start my final revision (final, before going to beta readers) on Sevitan, the fourth book in the Vetrix series. I'm giving myself to the end of January to complete.
I have a rough draft done on The Most Important Thing, though I didn't get as much written on it as I had hoped. I may try to get more written next week as I'm on vacation, but I just learned that Dad and Delores are on their way to Kansas for a week, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have now.
Spent the weekend at Susan's and had a good time. Sydney was going to join us but got called to fly.
You have a lot going on. Hope the next couple of weeks go well!

I was blessed today to have people show up and help me clean out the basement. Book club members and their significant others showed up and 5 volunteers from the Seneca FFA showed up. They were such a help. I had to fight back tears several times and still get weepy just thinking about how everybody pitched in. It was so unexpected and so needed. Mark, Nyla, Dan and Jeff will show up later this week to load the uhaul. I hope we can clear out the shed and garage. If we can get that gone, I can get the movers back for a new estimate and they can pack us up the rest of the way. I'm still trying to find a storage unit to put the stuff in when it gets to Kansas. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow and try to locate something.
Music writing is going well. I'm starting to get an urge to write again but still no time to do it. Hank is not recovering well from his last hospital stay. He isn't eating much and the diarrhea is unrelenting. I'm getting scared and that makes me weepy, too. I seem to do nothing but fight tears. I really need to be on the other side of the move and getting into our new space. I can't remember a time when I've been this stressed is too mild a word.
Is Sydney happy with her career choice? Is it everything she expected? I hope she loves her work. Hope everybody is healthy and happy.

Sydney likes her job so far, though she hasn't taken advantage of the free flying yet. She's signed up to start in January, so we'll see how much she uses it. I will also have that privilege, but I don't know how much I will use it either.
Right now she works strictly on Reserve, which is basically on call. Sometimes she'll know ahead of time when she's taking a trip, but not always. Eventually she will move up so she has assigned trips each month and will have a better handle of what her schedule will be. I think she'll like it, but we'll see if she wants to do it long-term. I don't know if it will pay enough money to satisfy her long-term or not.
She has two roommates in her apartment, but they're both flight attendants and I don't think they see a lot of each other. She does get to see Susan a lot (even though they live 30 minutes apart or so), so that's been good. With her schedule, though, it could be a while before she makes a lot of close friends or feels like she's put down any roots.

I got to spend the day with Sydney yesterday. I drove up and we hung out, spending a few of those hours in a large Barnes and Noble.
Sevitan - I got a lot of work done on this in the last week. I read through, made notes, brainstormed ideas on how to fix many of my plot issues, and did some writing. Today is my last day of vacation, and I've realized how much more creative I am when I'm not as stressed. It's been a nice week and I look forward to doing it again next year some time.
I know you're in the process of closing, moving, etc. I hope it all goes well and I look forward to seeing your new home in Kansas soon. Let me know if you need anything!
I will get your bank statements finished this month. Sydney and Blake are going to Texas between Christmas and New Year's, so if I don't get them done before that, I will finish then.

I should be in Kansas by Sunday. It's been a stressful, hard week made easier by help from Jeff and Dan and Nyla and Mark. Nyla and Mark loaded up the last of the stuff last night. I'll go do a walk through of the house this morning and when I leave it will be for the last time. I was surprisingly emotional. But mostly because my mystery book club showed up yesterday and helped me clean it. I could not have done it without them.
Nothing creative being done. Just trying to think of everything that needs closed and moved. The dogs are in the kennel. We'll pick them up tomorrow morning and head out. I'll check in as I can.
Glad you got to spend time with Sydney. and glad you had a vacation to relax in. I'm not sure I remember what vacation feels like but I guess living in a motel for a month will make me appreciate home.
